we are sisters, bec + lauren. bec is an engineer by day, lauren is an architect by day + both are potters by night. Chuchu is a ceramics brand we founded in 2013. we are based in sydney + are part of a pottery collective, called 'claypool' in botany. Chuchu is run by bec from here (while lauren is on a european travelling adventure).
our ranges + forms can be found in restaurants, cafes, shops + homes. some of our most recent + exciting projects include:
- wares for bentley restaurant, yellow sydney, paramount coffee project + the copper mill
- beginners hand building workshops at koskela, rosebery
- exhibitions at chinaclay, gallery klei, mansfield gallery, dickerson gallery + damien minton gallery (now closed)
- features in magazines such as yen, gourmet traveller, home beautiful, inside out + real living magazine
- participating in an art month panel in 2015
Chuchu's aim is to share our love for all things handmade, functional + fun. things that you can't help but pick up + touch.
other things that excite us include:
- a home made meal followed by a cup of tea (in Chuchu wares, of course)
- collaborations with other artists + small businesses
- experimenting with new things
